Contribution to Education in Gaziantep
The opening ceremony of the school, which was completed in Mimar Sinan Neighborhood and ready for the academic year with 24 classrooms, library, conference and sports hall, was held with the participation of Gaziantep Governor Davut Gül, Metropolitan Mayor Fatma Şahin, Nizip Mayor Mehmet Sarı, benefactor Müslüm Erdoğan, his wife Ayşen Erdoğan and his family.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Governor Gül emphasized the importance of investments in education and said, "As I always say, if we are good in education, it means we are good in every aspect of life. In this sense, I would like to thank our benefactor again for his interest in education and for this beautiful school he has brought to our district. I would also like to thank our Mayor Mehmet Sarı for taking part in such activities both personally and as an institution. May God increase the number of our benefactors. May our school be auspicious."
Metropolitan Mayor Fatma Şahin thanked the philanthropist family and said, "Today, we are very happy and very excited like our philanthropist family. First of all, I would like to thank the Erdogan family very much, they did a very good job and made a beautiful investment in Nizip, may Allah accept their charity. Our mayor Mehmet Sarı was also very interested in these works and made a lot of efforts, I thank him very much and wish our school to be beneficial to our district.
Mayor Mehmet Sarı thanked the philanthropist Müslüm Erdoğan and his family who undertook the construction of the school.
Continuing his speeches by expressing his satisfaction for pioneering such works as Nizip Municipality, Mayor Sarı said, “We had met our benefactor years ago, he was a philanthropist and when we told him that we had a land and that he could build a school here, he said okay without thinking and today he was instrumental in the emergence of this beautiful work. I wish our school to be beneficial to our education community and students.”
Philanthropist Müslüm Erdoğan stated that he was very happy that the school was ready for education and said, “Today is a day of happiness and pride for me and my family, this was a first for us, but it will not be limited to this, our mayor asked for the continuation of such works, he promises to build a second school here and I thank everyone who contributed to the completion of this beautiful school.”
The participants who visited the school, which was opened with prayers, wished success to the students.
The program ended with the presentation of a plaque to the philanthropist family and a souvenir photo taken.
